A date for the diary

My supervisor has just come to me to give me a date for my diary. July 19th is my final day at school, and on that day I will be expected to give a speech to the students in the big assembly. That's 514 students....and I have taught every single one of them. And not just on a casual basis either.....no one-shot visits for me! I teach the 1st year students every year, and as I am now on my 3rd school year..I now know the whole school, and have taught them all on a weekly basis. Within that 514, there are my English club students ; the cheeky baseball boys ; the giggly girls who wrote letters and cards for me ; the smart kids who just enjoyed my classes, because they wanted to improve their English (a rare breed, I can tell you!)...and many other characters who have made an impression on me in one way or another in the last 2 years. And on July 19th I have to make a farewell speech to them (in Japanese AND English ....my supervisor thinks it will be good listening practice for them..haha!) whilst trying to give it all together! I hope I don't cry...speaking Japanese is difficult enough without tears getting in the way! It's hard to know whether I'm going to be teary or just plain terrified! One thing is certain though...July 19th is going to be an emotional day. Thank god I've got 2 months to prepare for it!!!
