Tokyo - the end!
Our final day in Tokyo was just one big blur of shopping, cherry blossoms, and shopping. We made one final visit to the weird and wonderful shops of Harajuku. I made my pilgrimage to the Muji flagship store near Ginza (which was beautiful!..calm neutral colours at their best! heehee!). We had a yummy hanami under the gorgeous cherry trees in Ueno Park. We wandered around the crazy, bright higgledy-piggeldy electronics shops in Akihabara. We even made it to a maid cafe (also in Akihabara). The maid cafe was not as weird and disturbing as I had expected it to be. In fact, it was a little tame and boring. It was simply a cafe, where the girls were dressed in cutesy maid outfits, and on the menu (alongside tea and cakes) were options to play pot-luck games with the maids, or pay for one of the maids to do a dance on the stage at the front. There were a real mixture of people there, and actually only one or two guys who I had imagined would be the type to frequent these cafes. No photographs were allowed unfortunately, so I have no supporting evidence for this write-up...in fact I only took a couple of piccies this entire day...hence the lack of pretty pictures to accompany my words in this write-up.This day was all about tying up loose ends, and finishing off anything left on my bumper list! Our time in Tokyo was finally at an end, and it was time to come back to good old Yanai, and the Japan that I know and love! Tokyo was amazing. We had such a great time, and had so much fun. I look back on all my photos and can hardly believe how much we managed to cram in! A great way to spend Spring vacation! Thanks for coming Zeenat! It wouldnt have been nearly as much fun if you hadn't been there with me!
