Well chuffed!
About a month or 2 ago, my student, Yuka, came 1st in the Yamaguchi-ken Commercial high school speech contest (recitation section). Yesterday, she went up to Tokyo for the national final. 5 minutes ago I recieved an email from my teacher to say that she came 2nd!! She came 2nd out of 47 participants in the national final! Whooohoooo! I am so chuffed for her. She really was great, and she practiced so much, and tried so hard to make any changes i suggested. Nice one Yuka! You've done me, the school, and yourself extremely proud!
