A Christmas message

At the end of today's class I told the students of 1-2 that next week's lesson will be a special Christmas class, and so no rotten text book. I even promised them some Christmas sweeties! God, the things I do to get a look of enthusiasm from these kids...bribery works wonders in Japan! I also told them, that I would be happy to accept any christmas presents they wanted to bring me, and btw, it's my birthday soon, and so would also be happy to take an early birthday gift! They laughed, I smiled, and the bell rang. As they were filing out, 5 of the noisiest boys in the class (who, incidentally, I was a little nervous around in the beginning, because they are so loud...but now I have a good laugh with!), came over to my desk, and asked me what would I like for Christmas from them. I joked, and said "a car please" (I can't even drive!!)...to which their faces dropped as they realised the expense involved!!!! My teacher pointed out that if they split the cost between the 5 of them, it would not be too much!! Haha! They then proclaimed that they had a present for me right then and there...and after a count of 3, they chanted in perfect unison "love for Lauren"!!!!! Bless them! Im sure I blushed...and in fact I distincly remember holding the text book in front of my face as I thought I would go red! I thanked them......and then added "but I would really prefer a car!"
