Songs that are now ruined forever!
At my base school, we sing a song at the start of every OC1 class as a good warm-up. The song changes every month. The students (in general) seem to enjoy this activity, and I often hear them singing parts of a particularly catchy song around school. But, at the end of the day, they only have to sing it once a week. It's just a nice bit of fun! However, for me...it's like some kind of sick and twisted ALT torture ..."let's get the foreigner to sing the same song for 5 classes a week, for a month...and see if she cracks!" I have to say they almost broke me last year, when my JTE chose 'My Heart Will Go On', and by the end of the month my insides ached everytime I had to sing the wretched piece! It's not like I can just not bother, and keep my mouth shut. I'm supposed to be setting the genki, bubby, english-is-fun-let's-sing-together example, and so endeavour to sing with all my enthusiasm despite how suicidal Celine Dion for the 15th time makes me feel!!! The following songs are now ruined for me forever, due to over-singing, boredom, and hearing the lyrics frequently butchered by my high school students!!!
(Please note, some of these songs I hated anyway, so I don't mind never hearing them again!)
* My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion (Gah!)
* Your Song - Elton John
* Sing - The Carpenters
* Stand By Me - Ben E King (used to love this song!!!!!!booohooo)
* I Just Called To Say I Love You - Stevie Wonder (only just started this one, but it's already starting to grate!)
* Yesterday - The Beatles
* Hey Jude - The Beatles
* Imagine - John Lennon
* Everything I Do - Bryan Adams
* Merry Christmas - John Lennon
* Last Christmas - Wham (I can still just about tolerate this one, but maybe another december of singing this gem will push me over the edge!)
.......and some others I can't remember right now.

Are you actually saying there's a scenario where you dislike singing? Some of those songs should be taken out and shot anyway.
Maybe you should teach them some Steps or Whigfield and really take the p***.

Surely the majority of these songs cannot be ruined as they shyte to start with. It does sound like torture though. Still is it better than playing the students one of your favourite songs and them showing no reaction whatsoever.
