Halloween is over!

I have never celebrated Halloween as much as I have done this year! In England, we really don't make a big deal about it, and so this year it's been great fun to enjoy this scary old holiday. Today I taught my final Halloween lesson, and I feel I can finally lay those flashcards and 'Monster Mash' song worksheet to rest. Yesterday, Kat and I scared ourselves silly, watching The Grudge (Ju-on) and The Ring. I was expecting to be terrified by The Ring, but after watching The Grudge first, it seemed quite calm and tame in comparison. The Grudge was sooooo scary, and even more frightening for us, as the setting is Japan (the original film was Japanese), and so our familiar sliding doors and big cupboards took on a new eerie presence. Jesus, it was scary. Although, Kat and I did sit and pick holes in things that we knew were completely implausible...no, not the ghosts and ghouls...but rather the policeman who spoke amazingly fluent English ; the foreigners who had jobs other than English teaching ; and the rarity of having a house with an upstairs! Maybe we've been here too long! Yesterday, I also hosted a great Halloween party for my English Club...and it was great fun! We played bingo, listened to spooky music, ate candy, and wrapped 2 of the students up as mummies. The best Halloween since I was a kid, that's for sure!

Hey... I thought I already commented on this. Where did it go?
Are you okay today? I hope you are resting well and drinking lots (not alcohol).
Keep rested and try not to dream about the Grudge!!!

Hey I remember... I commented on the Grudge.
I hear that it is the scariest movie ever. Maybe you will never be scared from a movie again.
The upstairs thing is interesting... No apartments have upstairs but heaps of family homes do...
Stranger still is the fact that they call apartments mansions. Strange!

My apartment has an upstairs, but maybe I am strange. Loved "the Grudge" because it freaked my English club girls out. So fun.
