Don't you just love days off!
Yesterday was a glorious national holiday (again!), and so I spent a lovely morning at Yanai Festival. I went last year, and knew completely what would be there, what the dancing would be, and what the annoying music would be...but I still wanted to go, and capture some great festival photos! The main part of the festival is the dancing-parade-thingymibob, which goes up the main street, and finishes at the beautiful white walls. Different groups / companies / schools take part in the parade, and wear matching kimonos/ hapi jackets etc. They all dance the same small steps at the same time, whist twirling brightly coloured parasols, and it really is quite a sight. After the parade had finished, I met up with Kat, Lee, Keith (one of the stars of the dancing parade!), and Kyoko. We headed off to Kudamatsu for an afternoon of purikura, games, and karaoke! Bliss.
