Things that are starting to annoy me!
- The HUGE cuddly toys that my kids (16/17/18 years old) hang off their bags. I know Japan is all about the cute..and boy do I love it...most of the time! But those gross minnie mouse and baby-Pooh-san toys do not belong on a seventeen year old boy's bag!!! No no no!!
- The students who carry the towels and the blankets all around school! Sarah, I agree with you entirely! It's like they need some kind of security blanket next to them just so they can get through a lesson! They spread them over the legs like an old lady ; they drape it over the back of their chair ; or they just sit and hug it, chew it, or nuzzle in it all lesson!!!
- The kids on my bus this morning..who I teach...who know me...who I have caught the bus with on numerous occasions...and who still say 'hello', and then giggle with their friends! I dont care if you're nervous or embarrassed...say 'ohayo' if it's that much of strain to speak simple English without spluttering with laughter!!
- The girls who wear like a million pairs of socks!! That's what it looks like...the knee socks that they push down and down, until they can get another pair on...with what purpose...to make your legs look chunkier? Because your legs are cold? It's summer!! Get a clue!!
Phew...that's better!!! Just needed to get that out of my system!! Im actually in a good mood today, and am having a nice week so far...there are just things that were starting to grate a little!

Loz, that entry spoke to many on so many different levels. Thank you for your insight.

I am becoming a raging ball of hate over the katakana-ized English words that I am hearing daily. Why can't they make up their own words, or use the ones that already exist?! They made up words for milk and baseball, why can't they make up more?
I asked for a marker at the post office. I said "Maa-kaa?" The guy was puzzled, then asked, "Ah, majiku?" And the bingo thing, "reechee" (reach), and the clothespins, "peenchee" (pinch or pince...since mince is "meenchee" I'm really not sure!), and "wenkaa" for blinker...argh!
Raging. Ball. Of. Hate.

Haha I'm with you guys all the way although I can't help but think that the millions of pairs of socks thing is infinately better than the craze of wearing black tights with white socks over them which was cool when i was at high school (very minnie mouse) did this spread to the US or NZ? or even york loz?!
