Spring Concert
On Friday, I went to the Yanai High School Spring Concert. As this is my base school, I went more out of a sense of obligation, and wanting to make a good impression, rather than a desire to listen to classical music for 2 hours! The concert was in Yanai's concert hall 'Sunbeam'...actually a really rather nice concert hall, and bigger than I thought it would be.
Saw a few of my teachers, and a lot of my students, and was very thankful that Kat agreed to come with me, so I wasn't the only foreigner sat in the big hall! A student called Megumi, who comes to see me in the teacher's room each week for conversation practise, had given me the tickets as a present, as she was playing violin in the concert. The students were actually quite good, and I was impressed by how un-school-orchestra-like they sounded! Well done guys!! You did our school proud! ....just hope no-one saw me and Kat slope off at the intermission..an hour of classical brilliance was enough for us...we were dying to get to CoCo curry, and karaoke!!!!
